The Wisconsin Institute / WPI was created by Les Aspin in1987 to assist Wisconsin companies with their Government contracting needs. Aspins strategy focused on integrating strong technical capability with broad political support. The result has been a winning combination for Wisconsin companies.
WPI provides a myriad of services to Wisconsin businesses, including:
-Bid Match service - matching Wisconsin companies to Government bids
-Assistance in developing government market research and analysis
-Assistance in understanding US Small Business Administration contracting programs
-Assistance in developing Mentor-protégé or Joint Venture relationships and agreements
-Federal Matchmaking events bringing together Government buyers and Wisconsin sellers
-On and off line library of resources to in-state businesses
-Hosting Wisconsin in Washington- an annual event in Washington, DC established to assist businesses meet with their members and agency representatives
-Access to technical resources and network of Government experts developed (WPIs long standing relationships)
-Hosts and coordinates trade missions to Federal agencies
-WPI is working with new technology to facilitate Long Distance Learning (LDL) opportunities - through web-video and pod
-Current information and guidance on WAWF, RFID, UID and other new Federal mandates
-Assistance in preparing and reviewing Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR/STTR) proposals
-Assistance in proposal preparation for the General Services Administration (GSA) Schedule and EMALL contracts
